Welcome to Grenoble!

Open House was founded in 1987 to support the growing English-speaking population in Grenoble and the surrounding area. We have currently more than 150 members and their families, from 27 countries, all of whom are linked by the English language and the fact that they are living, or have lived, as expats. Our members all know what it means to pack up and come to live in a foreign country, where the language and customs may be very different from home. The support offered by kindred spirits helps the transition at this exciting but challenging time.

Open House runs a wide range of activities for people of all ages and from all walks of life. We have 2 regular groups for those with young kids, plus children's parties and occasional days out. There are also regular get-togethers such as Wine Tastings, Lunches, Outdoor Activities, Book Groups, and simple coffee meetings where you can get to know other English speakers in the area. If you want to learn French or improve your language skills, we have a fortnightly French-English exchange, and a new French Reading Group. Plus, our members are a source of information on just about anything you could need to know during your time in Grenoble.

Welcome to Grenoble. Welcome to Open House!
